Ode to Buddy

I am not a poet and can never hope to possess the eloquence of a wordsmith so I had to "borrow" the words of Byron....

 Epitaph to a Dog

Near this Spot
are deposited the Remains of one
who possessed Beauty without Vanity,
Strength without Insolence,
Courage without Ferocity,
and all the virtues of Man without his Vices.

This praise, which would be unmeaning Flattery
if inscribed over human Ashes,
is but a just tribute to the Memory of
Boatswain, a Dog
who was born in Newfoundland May 1803
and died at Newstead Nov. 18th, 1808

Buddy possessed all of these qualities and more, he was the blame for all of us to not do something because we were hugging Buddy.  He was the worlds' finest snuggler and by far, the happiest dog in the whole world.  His tail had it's own battery that never seem to run out of power.  He loved his Baby and he loved his toys, especially a ball.  It never mattered what size it was or if it was even his, it became his and he played.  He was the best.  I loved that little dog......
